What Needs to be Done

I am aware that the Democrats have done a few things to make life slightly better for the people, but I have no confidence in them as a party. When it comes to social issues, they have no problem with defending gay marriage or a woman's right to an abortion, but when it comes to economics, they are just as bad as the Republicans. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful that they are at least willing to stand for something, but it bothers me that both parties use the social issues as a smokescreen to divert our attention from the issues that have the greatest impact on our lives. They like having these unsolvable issues that will never go away, because it provides job security.

Unless we can convince enough of the American public to stand with us and demand an amendment that: creates a rotating citizen watchdog group with the power to impeach our leaders, overhauls our congress by creating a multi-party proportional representation system, and eliminates private funding campaigns, the corporate take over of our government will likely continue to strengthen until every last drop of sweat and blood is squeezed from the American people and we will end up a hollow shell of a nation.

I know that sounds pessimistic, but we need to stop being so complacent as a nation. I myself am willing to make the sacrifice, and will one day be a leader defending our nation from the tyranny of the rich and powerful.
